Often we don't know where our food really comes from. We might know that meat comes from a cow for example, but do we know how healthy a life that cow has.
Or do our fruit and vegetables grown until they have matured and ready for us to buy, or have they been sitting around in a warehouse for most of its life, without the sun shining on it.

The better the quality of the source of the food the better the quality of your food.

The quality of your food becomes the quality of your health, it is that simple.
If your food has gone through extreme conditions to get to you it will be of less nutritional value to you, basically your food is stressed, and your are already. Your food should support you and your energy, not deplete it.

Choose food that is locally grown and from sustainable agriculture sources as much as possible.
Choose food that is from human, biologically and socially responsible sources.

Vegetables and fruit from local farmers such as what is available in farmer's markets are great choices, and you would also want to add organically grown as much as possible. See the plate that talks about organic food choices.

For your fish, make sure it is from a well-farm or a wild source that is not high in mercury or endangered species.

For your dairy and meat, eggs, and chicken, make sure it is from farms that take good care of their animals, that means - not factory farms but rather smaller farms that offer free-range animals, grass-fed cattle, and organically raised; no hormones and antibiotics used.
